What gets counted
This site runs its own counter. It sets no cookie, keeps no IP address and sends nothing to another party. That is why there is no cookie banner: there is nothing to refuse.
To see how many different people come by, the server builds a marker from your IP address, your browser and the name of the site, together with a number that changes every day. That marker cannot be traced back to you. The number for that day is thrown away the following night, together with the raw lines. After that only daily counts remain.
What goes into such a count
- which page you open, in which language and whether you are on a phone, tablet or computer;
- which country you come from, derived from your IP address and kept no longer than the raw line;
- which site you came from, the name of that site only;
- how far you scroll and which blocks you had in view;
- how long you stay active on the page;
- which button you click and whether you click a mail address;
- whether you move on to one of the other sites Rico runs.
What you leave behind yourself
Nothing, unless you write. There is no form on this site. Contact runs through a mail button and what you write then lands in an ordinary mailbox and nowhere else.
What you send is kept for as long as it takes to answer you and to know what a conversation was about. Ask for it to go and it goes.
Who else sees it
For the counting on this site: one party.
- Netlify
- Carries the site and keeps the counts above. No IP address and no name is held in those.
There is no advertising network on this site, no chat window from a third party and no script looking over your shoulder.
What you send by mail runs outside that counting. It goes through the party that carries the mailbox.
How long it stays
- The raw lines from the counter: until the following night. After that only daily numbers, with nobody in them.
- Your mail: until you ask for it to go.
What you can ask for
You may ask what is kept about you, have it corrected, have it removed, object to its use and ask for it in a file. That goes through rico@the-performancecoach.com. An answer follows within a month.
If you disagree with how that goes, you can complain to the supervisory authority in the country where you live. In the Netherlands that is the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens, in Spain the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos.
Confidentiality of the work itself
This page is about the site. The work is held to something stricter: nothing is written anywhere about clients, no name, no sector and no year. That holds for every client.
